GENERAL DESCRIPTION (1-3 LINES DESCRIBING ROLE):
|
The Bus Monitor supports students in maintaining a safe environment with onboarding and offloading on the bus as well as assisting students as necessary when needed(before and/or afterschool)

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Acceptable results of a national background check.
Qualifications:
1)High School diploma or equivalent GED preferred. 2)Ability to provide for the health and safety of students while transporting. 3)Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions. 4)Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public. 5)Physically be able to meet the demands of the job.
Acceptable results of a national background check.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES (NOT LIMITED TO):

The Bus Monitor supports a specific student or students while on the bus ride. This could include ensuring safety measures are met and/or monitoring for prosocial bus behaviors.
Essential job duties (Not limited to): :
-providing individual support to student(s) whose plans require monitoring
-attend any necessary trainings from school staff on student(s) needs and the student(s) bus plan
-implement the student(s) individual bus plan(s)

-Should there be a same day cancellation, the bus monitor would still be paid

-Other duties as needed and assigned

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work Environment:
Work is performed in both school and home environments
Physical Requirements:
- Must be physically able to respond (e.g. push, pull, or carry at least 25 lbs) to students who are physically unsafe and use physical restraints as part of a de-escalation process.
- Must be able to physically respond to students who have special needs.
- Must be able to physically maintain a safe environment.
- Must be able to travel between multiple school and home locations
