GENERAL DESCRIPTION (1-3 LINES DESCRIBING ROLE):
|
The Executive Director of the Northborough Extended Day Programs, Inc., is in a full-time
exempt position and is responsible for leading a best-in-class non-profit program including before and after school programs, early release days, and February and April vacation programs. This position serves as the point of contact between all internal and external constituents, and program parents and is charged with the successful operation of all NEDP programs. The Executive Director is responsible for the daily operations, supervision, planning, implementing, administration, and quality development of the Northborough Elementary school age childcare programs. The Executive Director will model the character, mission, representation, and leadership of Northborough Extended Day Program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Job Qualifications:
- Must posses current EEC Director II Certification
- Five or more years of center leadership/management experience is required
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in ECE or a related field is preferred
- Strong knowledge of state licensing rules and regulations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Solid management experience
- Highly organized with mindfulness and follow-through, and the ability to multi-task
- Effective leadership skills, a high degree of professionalism, strong work ethic, initiative, and excellent time management skills
- The ability to maintain professional boundaries
- The ability to empathize with others
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and people skills including warm concise written and verbal communication

- Demonstrates professionalism with staff, parents/guardians, and participants, including an outward patience in challenging and/or stressful interactions, including conflict resolution
- Demonstrated ability to create and manage programmatic infrastructure and internal systems
- Strong management experience
- The capacity to work independently and to take initiative on a variety of tasks and unknown situations
- The ability to maintain professional boundaries
- Calm under pressure, customer service-oriented, flexible, and possessing a good sense of humor
Additional requirements:
- Complete personnel file with the proper documentation required by DESE, including background checks (CORI, DCF, SORI and fingerprinting) and physical examination requirements.
- CPR/First Aid certified

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES (NOT LIMITED TO):
|
Essential Functions/Job Duties:
- Responsible for the overall direction and leadership of the Northborough Extended Day Program
- Supports the overall mission and vision of the District
- Responsible for the hiring, supervision and inspiring staff to create a unique learning experience for students.
- Responsible for the coordination of a multi-school program that requires ongoing program monitoring and staff training.
- Builds effective working relationships with parents, students, and other constituents
- Takes initiative, manages programs, and satisfies customers/stakeholders
- Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing with multiple internal and external constituents.
- Develops and manages a fiscally responsible budget for the Northborough Extended Day Program including tuition recommendations, vouchers and other fiscal management.
- Analyzes the performance of the program including program outreach needs and enrichment opportunities for students and staff.
- Utilizes technology effectively
- Ensures that the program meets all compliance and legal requirements.
- Available to work whenever program is in session, early release days and vacation weeks
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations in all areas.
- Creates, maintains and completes documentation for reporting requirements and participates in federal, state, local, and district audits as needed.
- Provides reports to the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, and School Committee as needed.
- Lead initiatives to recruit, train, and retain high-performing staff including operational procedures
- Coordinates monthly all staff meetings and monthly Site Coordinator meetings
- Responsible for managing staff, including annual evaluations
- Provide strategic leadership and vision to achieve educational excellence and operational success
- Foster a culture of continuous quality improvement and innovation in all areas to achieve goals and vision of programming
- Build community relationships and develop partnerships with local organizations
- Maintains the website as required
- Consistent and on-time attendance is required for supervision and instruction of the students

Work is generally performed in a school environment before, during, and after the school day.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, and support substantial weight (approximately 15 to 50lbs.) with their arms.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close-up vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The noise level in the work environment varies from quiet to loud. Job requires elevated levels of alertness and concentration.
- Must have sufficient mobility to navigate within a large school building.
